Topics Covered

Since life is somewhat complicated, the following topics are covered:

The Danger of Philosophies

Ecclesiastes shows the mistakes of major philosophies of “the greatest minds that ever lived” to be just hot air. Wrapping your mind around them just leads to dead ends. The New Testament gives God’s “advice” on and what to do with philosophy:

Colossians 2:8 “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”

Philosophy is just some “pea” brain’s attempt to explain God, without God’s Biblical revelation of Himself! God is not revealed by imagining Him, or only to the intelligent. God reveals Himself when a Christian spends time walking with Him, especially through the Bible! Every young Christian heading to college needs to learn these things before they get sucked into the indoctrination of bad teaching.

The Opportunities of Life

A thorough understanding of Ecclesiastes will give purpose to the opportunities that are left for you to experience. God is not through with you!

The Emptiness of Pleasure

A thorough understanding of Ecclesiastes will help show the emptiness that seeking pleasure and material things brings. It will also show that anything contrary to the will of God for an individual leads to failure at the end of life. Much of Solomon’s life was spent seeking pleasure. Unfortunately for King Solomon this lesson was learned too late! You, however, can benefit from his horrible mistakes!
